COMMUNITY CRIME AWARENESS DAY –

A CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL DIVERSITY

SPECIAL FEATURE – MISSISSAUGA FOOD FAIR

           AT MISSISSAUGA CELEBRATION SQUARE

           SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2019

The Community Crime Awareness Day (CCAD) is hosted by Mississauga Chinese Business Association in partnership with Peel Regional Police, Safe City Mississauga, The Mississauga News and Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. This year, the event will take place from 11 am to 9 pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Mississauga Celebration Square.

It serves as a tool for citizens to come together and learn about community safety and policing issues in the region, emphasizing cohesion and municipal harmony.

It is an event combining information, entertainment and friendship to promote a positive, safe and supportive environment for people who live and work in Mississauga.

Special Features for 2019:
Mississauga Food Fair. Food vendors will showcase large variety of delicious Asian and local food. This follows our event theme of celebrating multicultural diversity and exchange.

Lantern Festival. This is a new addition to the 2019 CCAD. Hundreds of lanterns will be lit up throughout the Square towards the evening to usher in the good omens of Mid-Autumn Festival as well as signifying the Thanksgiving of abundant harvest and prosperity. Free lanterns will be distributed at the event.

Mini Concert. Based on the overwhelming popularity from last year, the mini concert is returning this year. Impersonate Lady Gaga performance will be from 5 to 6 pm. Abba Tribute Show will be from 7 to 8 pm.

The event is a great day out for families and friends. Admission is FREE. Live entertainment and activities throughout the day gives attendees plenty to do: cultural performances, Royal Canadian Air Cadets performances, line dance, catch a fish, face painting, balloon twisting, inflatable games, wheel of fortune, etc. Attendees will have photo opportunity with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Free sample of pop corn and cotton candy will be distributed at the event. Lucky draw prize is iPad.

The event features over 60 booth displays courtesy of Peel Regional Police, Fire Department, St. John Ambulance as well as organizations from different communities and business sponsors.
