Harvey Hu

President

Harvey joined as a member of MCBA in 2010 after he moved his import and wholesale business to Mississauga. He has been the president of Grand International Trading since 2001, supplying thousands of retailers with a variety of product lines across Canada. Apart from his work, he is always trying to contribute his time to the local community and help those who need a hand.

Winnie Fung

Winnie has been actively involved with MCBA since its inaugural in 1991 and officially served the Board since 2003. She was nominated in four terms as Vice President since 2008 and two terms as President from 2016 – 2021.  

Ms. Fung is an entrepreneur, international business development – training management professional as well as a business and community front-runner. She has over two decades of experience in managing Canada-China bilateral partnership projects funded by Federal and international donors that promotes cross-learning, human development and transfer of skills and technology, thereby fostering strong economic and social progress. She organized numerous public-private partnership international trade missions, international conferences, and exchange mission projects. She has developed an extensive network of experts, professionals, and community influencers in public & private business sectors both in Canada and the East – China (Hong Kong) & Asia.

At the community level, she dedicates herself and is involved with several community organizations that promote cultural learning, appreciation and supporting integration for an inclusive community. Winnie also plays a key role at the Confederation of Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association, a joint force which promote Chinese business and community unity.

As a women entrepreneur with years of business operation experience in retail, wholesale and branding management, Winnie volunteered as a business mentor providing advice and consulting service to young businesses start-up.

In recognition of her extensive services to the community, Winnie was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal – a commemorative medal served to honour significant contributions and achievements individually. 

Yvonne Law

Yvonne Law

Vice President

Yvonne Law joined the MCBA in 2016 as a member and served as a Director of Board since 2017.

Prior to coming to Canada, Yvonne has worked as an Immigration Officer at the Hong Kong Immigration Department. Currently based in Markham and Mississauga, she runs her own business called Sunny Tours.  With over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry and fleet management, she provides inbound tours for guests from Asia along with a tour bus fleet. In addition, she also offers tour bus services to local customers in Canada. 

From 1996 to 2016, Yvonne has been the project manager of the Canada China Economic and Cultural Centre, where she previously managed and coordinated visits for Chinese delegations. She still currently organizes visits for other concerned parties, utilizing her experiences to ensure success.

In addition to business development, she participates in volunteer activities by organizing tours for seniors, non-profit organizations, and travel industry associations. She is also involved with communities by contributing her time and donating to different organizations.

Etta Wong

Etta joined the MCBA Board in 2018.  Seasoned and talented with over 30 years’ experience in mass and corporate communications, marketing & brand building, networking and customer relations in both corporate level and media industry with proven ability to proactively identify and resolve problems – maximize productivity, innovative in effective communications both internal and external, create new stream and control costs.

Etta works for CCN Media as the General Manager and Deputy Editor-in-chief since 2005.  A conglomerate of Today Commercial News, WeChat: CanadaTCNnews and website: www.todaycommercialnews.com. Working together with a talented team, Today Commercial News has been a new Voice in the Chinese community.

As the President of MC Marketing, an affiliate of CCN Media, Etta has spearheaded the execution of various sales and marketing projects for clients in different business sectors both in Canada and China.  She continues to explore new ways to make life more interesting in the changing world of today. Etta lives in Mississauga with her family.

Pierre Chen

Pierre joined the MCBA in 2016.  Pierre is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP) and Registered Acupuncturist (R,Ac), Massage Therapist (RMT). Pierre is the Director of Admissions in Canadian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. His goal is to bring old world knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine education into Canada and integrate with our society here. 

Charles Chu

Charles is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant in Canada. He is a Partner of CHU CPA Professional Corporation.

He has worked with various accounting firms such as BDO Canada LLP and industries focused on small businesses in the areas of assurance, taxation, accounting and advisory.

He has been a volunteer for MCBA since he was 10 years old. He was the President of the MCBA Young Professionals Board (2013-15) and currently sits as the Treasurer for the Mississauga Arts Council.

Pierre Wong

Pierre Wong was born in a little known French colony called Fort-Bayard (Kwong Chow Wan), China. After finishing high school at La Salle College in Kowloon, Hong Kong he went to study at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and graduated with a B.A. degree majoring in Economics. As an entrepreneur, he ran a successful business for more than thirty years, importing and distributing his own brand of clothing across Canada. At the same time, he was also very much involved in real estate. He developed and built properties in the heart of Toronto, Chinatown and Mississauga. In 2007, he decided to put his financial expertise to good use and for the benefit of his own community. He joined Investors Group as a Financial Planner after being their client for more than 20 years. He believes everyone can achieve financial security just by taking the time to plan. To complement his day work he contributes his time and resources to many local charitable organizations in Mississauga. Pierre will be celebrating his 14th anniversary as a consultant at IG Wealth Management in December this year.

Lilian Kwok

Lilian is the Director, Business Development and Human Resources for Nations Fresh Foods – a new brand of the Oceans Fresh Food Market in Ontario, Canada.  She joined MCBA in 1998 and has been the President for two terms (2012-2014) & (2014-2016).  At present, she continues to serve as a Director on the MCBA Board.  In her role as the President of MCBA, Lilian was one of the Team Leaders of the China Trade Missions organized by the Confederation of Greater Toronto Chinese Business Association, in the years of 2012 and 2015.

She has over 25 years of experience in the human resources field, specializes in providing high impact training, coaching and performance enhancement services to organizations, individuals and professional delegations.  Lilian holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).

Besides business development, she has been actively involved in community service for over 20 years and was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Award in 2013 in recognition of her contribution to the community.  In March 2016, Lilian was awarded the Leading Women’s Award by the Ontario Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues.

Lilian has been sitting on several boards and committees, including the Mississauga International Partnership Program (2015), the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (2015-2018) of the City of Mississauga, the Global Hamilton Council of the City of Hamilton (2015 to present). Safe City Mississauga (2018 to present) and the Chief’s Advisory Council of the Peel Regional Police (2017 to present).  At present, she is the President of the Hamilton Chinese Business Association.

Carol Kwong

Carol has participated MCBA activities since 1993 and joined as a member in 2005.  Carol works at Arbor Memorial Corporation since 1992 as Cemetery Director and Funeral Home Associate for 22 years.  She has volunteered in community organizations such as: Yee Hong Centre, Chinese Golden Age Club and Chinese Association of Mississauga.

Marco Au

Originally from Hong Kong, Marco moved to Canada and settled in Mississauga since 1997.

Marco has developed an early interest in banking and financial industries in his early-20s.  Beginning his career as Credit Officer at RBC in 2008.  Marco then found his passion in residential mortgage field and becomes a RBC Mortgage Specialist that services across GTA.

Marco maintains excellent working relationships with clients, lenders and real estate professionals across GTA.  He has proven that hard work, strategic thinking and a sharp client focus can make the difference in mortgage industry.

Eric Lin

Director

Eric has joined the board since 2020 and has been working in RBC Royal Bank for 20 years, with 10+ years’ experience in business banking.  Eric was born in Hong Kong, studied in Queen’s college until Form 4 (Grade 10 equivalent) and immigrated to Canada in 1992.  Eric graduated from University of Toronto in 2000 and working in RBC since 2001.  Eric have been actively helping Asian entrepreneurs to establish in GTA market.

Jenny Lo

 Jenny Lo is an entrepreneur with over 20 years of experiences in business management and strategic business planning, presentation, financial integrity and operation in the manufacturing industry. Jenny and her business partners started their product inventions and business development since 2011. She is currently Vice President of Business Development of Sky2Design Manufacturing Ltd. in Canada. Their team introduces the solar powered innovative technology of appliances and smart food management products together with many new product ideas to North America and globally.


Jenny is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013, appointed by the Senate Office of the Government of Canada. She supports many universities and colleges by providing industrial design internshipopportunities and working expericnces for university/college graduates.She will continue to mentor many industrial design graduates and business management graduates to establish their start up business experiences in both Canada and Hong Kong, while also helping the start-up team to grow their business networks globally. Jenny has been Board of Director of several Chinese Business Associations in Canada. She has been a co-chair of Community Crime Awareness Day Event in Mississauga with over ten years’ experience, while working with over hundreds of volunteers at the event. Jenny is also a recipient of the Outstanding Women Award(2022 Outstanding Canada/Greater Bay Communion Award) by MRVCBA.


Being the Co-Founder and the President of the Brampton Chinese Business Association, Jenny is now also a Committee Member of the City of Brampton Economic Support Task Force in Canadaduring this cOVID-19 pandemic in Canada since2020. She is also an active advisory committee member of Peel Regional Police Chief’s Resource Council.
Since Jenny has been participating many Ontario Trade Mission globally since years ago, she has been focusing Virtual Trade Missions globally with her manufacturing and product design industry experiences so as to create projects and jobs both in Canada and Hong Kong.

Lyman Ruan

Lyman came to Canada as an International student and has graduated from   University of Western Ontario in 2009.

With the help and advice from MCBA, Lyman started his own business in 2010 in the industry of furniture trading and wholesale. Based in Mississauga, the business has been growing and delivering quality outdoor products to the community. He has  strong knowledge in the industry and extensive experience in furniture branding.

Lyman has been a member since 2014. Recently, he has started to serve as director at the MCBA board in 2019. Apart from his work, he is excited to work with an amazing group of people in MCBA and is looking forward to contributing more to the community.

Meili Tang

 Meili Tang is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 15 years of corporate accounting,   tax preparation and not for profit experience in Canada.  Currently Ms. Tang serves as Chief   Financial Officer for Torres Media Group, a privately  held company that operates 4 FM radio   stations and the largest Canadian owned traffic network.  Meili’s specialty is focused on the   Canadian media industry. She lives in   York Region with her husband and son.

 

Annes Liu

Annes Liu has been a member of MCBA since 2017. She was raised in Hong Kong and pursued post-secondary education in accounting in Taiwan. She returned to Hong Kong to start a career in the exhibition industry, organizing vendor events and trade shows in Hong Kong and worldwide.

Annes is known for her passion for business and relentless pursuit of providing superior service to clients. She migrated to Canada in 2004 and worked with various global companies in the supply chain. 

As a licensed Real Estate Agent since 2012, she co-founded “The Condo Attitude”— a VIP pre-construction sales brand catering to the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. She is looking forward to helping our Mississauga Chinese Business community improve and grow. 

Stephen Xu

Director

Stephen Xu was born in Guangzhou China and gained a master’s degree from Warwick University UK in 2003. He had worked for a European cargo airline for 10 years in China and immigrated to Canada in 2012. In Canada Stephen continued  his logistics career, majored in different supply chain sections for another 10 years. At present he’s the general manager of BSI Canada, a leading freight forwarding company located in Mississauga. Being a Toastmaster member for years, Stephen served as president of a Toastmaster Club in Mississauga in 2017 and was awarded President Distinguished Club. As a responsible firearm PAL holder and because of professional requirements, Stephen has strong sense of safety and security. He’s willing to contribute to a safe community for everyone. Stephen is part of a happy family with two daughters.
